This franchise-record-breaking strikeout came in the night game of yesterday's day/night doubleheader between Cole's Yankees and the Texas Rangers when he whiffed Nathaniel Lowe in the second inning. Cole went on to strike out eight more batters over his six-inning performance, making the new franchise record 257.
