Lead off with three consecutive HRs - 1st time in team history

The New York Mets, in the night contest of a day/night doubleheader, made an explosive piece of franchise history when they opened the game with back-to-back-to-back home runs. These three consecutive home runs to start their offense is a franchise first, and was accomplished with blasts from Brandon Nimmo, Francisco Lindor and Jeff McNeil. Remarkably, after the contest ended 8-0 in New York's favor, the Mets were awarded their 100th win of the 2022 Major League Baseball campaign.
