Joe Morgan

OCTOBER 22, 1975 — The 1975 World Series, between the Cincinnati Reds and the Boston Red Sox, was insanely competitive and certifiably dramatic. On this day in 1975, the series was given an appropriately remarkable ending, thanks to Reds second baseman Joe Morgan. In the top of the ninth inning, Morgan connected with a pitch from Red Sox hurler Jim Burton to drive in the game’s winning run, realizing his Reds World Series dreams.
