Xander Bogaerts

Boston Red Sox shortstop Xander Bogaerts made team history on Friday evening, breaking a 101-year-old record for most games at the shortstop position. Bogaerts passed Everett Scott, who played from 1914 to 1926 and won three World Series rings with the team (1915, 1916, 1918). Bogaerts played in his 1,094 game at shortstop, passing Scott for most in Red Sox history. Bogaerts played a big role in Boston's 7-2 win over Oakland – driving in three runs while going 2-for-5 with a homer.
