In last night's contest between the Baltimore Orioles and the Washington Nationals, Orioles center fielder Austin Hays hit for the 11th cycle in franchise history. Most impressive was he accomplished this in a rain-shortened, six-inning game. Hays started his day off with a single, home run, and triple off Washington Nationals starter Patrick Corbin in the first, third and fourth innings, respectively, before finishing with a double in the sixth. Hays has been indispensable to his Orioles lineup this season, and this phenomenal showing helped his Club best Washington, 7-0.
