Last night’s meeting between the Boston Red Sox and the Tampa Bay Rays marked the return of the veteran left-hander to the Major League Baseball stage. In what was the 33-year-old, Lakeland, Florida native’s first start of the 2022 MLB campaign, Sale pitched for five scoreless innings, striking out five Rays batters and walking just one of them. Although Sale’s incredible performance wasn’t enough for his Club to take home the victory, Red Sox fans are jubilant about Sale’s return.
