Last night’s matchup between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Angels featured Dodgers starting pitcher Clayton Kershaw flirting with perfection. Specifically, Kershaw carried a perfect game into the eighth inning, marking the second time this season Kershaw carried a perfect game through the seventh inning. This made Kershaw the only pitcher in 40 years to have done so, and despite not securing the perfect game, Kershaw’s near-perfect start helped his Club to rout the Angels, 9-1, and also lowered his WHIP to 1.001, the lowest for any starter in a century.
