Bryan Shaw

Last night’s contest between the Cleveland Guardians and the Boston Red Sox was Guardians veteran and once-relief pitcher Bryan Shaw’s first start of his Major League Baseball career. After making 732 relief appearances, Shaw set a new American League/National League record for making the most appearances before notching their first career start, topping David Robertson, who collected 670 before starting his first contest last year. Shaw spent just over two innings on the mound, striking out two Red Sox batters and helping his Club take home an 8-3 victory.
