Nick Fortes

Miami Marlins rookie catcher Nick Fortes had a stellar performance in last night's meeting between his Club and the San Diego Padres, smashing two home runs over the course of the game. Fortes' first longball, a solo shot, was belted in the second inning of the contest and sent over the left-center-field wall. His second was smashed two innings later and launched just over the left-field wall and was also good for one run. Fortes' two-RBI showing did much to propel his Marlins to their eventual 4-3 victory.
