Seattle Mariners rookie starting pitcher George Kirby threw 24 consecutive strikes to open his performance in yesterday afternoon's meeting between his Club and the Washington Nationals. Amazingly, this is a new all-time Major League Baseball record, with the previous high being Joe Musgrove's 21-strike start in 2018. Kirby's performance was noteworthy on its own, too, as the 24-year-old allowed just one run over his seven-inning stint on the mound, fanning nine Washington batters in the process.
