After collecting a league-leading 42 saves for his Cleveland Guardians over the course of the 2022 campaign, Emmanuel Clase was named the season's Mariano Rivera American League Relief Pitcher of the Year Award winner. Clase, who made his MLB debut in August of 2019, was selected to his first MLB All-Star Game in 2022 and helped his Club to their AL Central Division title. Furthermore, Clase set a new single-season career-high strikeouts bar with 77 in as many games.
