Verlander rejoins former teammate Max Scherzer, aiming to maintain a formidable Mets rotation. Verlander, a 17-season veteran of Major League Baseball, was outstanding after returning from Tommy John surgery, leading the Majors in ERA last season with 1.75 and posting an 18-4 record.
