Relief pitcher Kevin Ginkel played a crucial role with his appearance to cling onto the slim 4-2 margin. Entering the game in the seventh inning with one out and two runners on base, Manager Torey Lovullo called upon the 29-year-old to retire Trea Turner and Bryce Harper. Escaping the previous frame unharmed, Ginkel returned to the mound in the eighth inning to not only keep the Phillies off the bases but also striking out the side with his devastating slider.
