The hottest Philadelphia Phillies hitter to start the 2023 MLB season, Bryson Stott, entered Sunday's contest one game away from tying the Club's Modern Era record for longest hitting streak to start a campaign. He did just that against the Cincinnati Reds on Sunday in dramatic fashion. Stepping up to the plate at the top of the first inning, Stott launched the first leadoff homer of his career into right field. The hit energized the Phillies for the rest of the game, leading to a season-high 23 hits on the day. Stott has now recorded a hit in 16-straight games.
