For their third meeting in 2023 World Baseball Classic Pool C play, Team Great Britain met with Team Columbia and left Chase Field with a 7-5 victory. At just 20 years old, Britain's catcher Harry Ford became the youngest player in World Baseball Classic history to hit a home run, after connecting with a pitch from Jasier Herrera in the seventh inning. Not only was the home run historic, but it was also impactful, tacking on a much-needed insurance run in the must-win contest.
