Yesterday afternoon, as part of his Los Angeles Dodgers matchup against the Houston Astros, Freddie Freeman notched the 2,000th hit of his Major League Baseball career. The milestone hit was an eighth-inning, two-out RBI double struck off Astros relief man Rafael Montero. Freeman now joins a group of just six active players with 2,000 or more career hits and became just the 98th player in MLB history to notch both 2,000 or more hits and belt 300 home runs over the course of their career.
