The Pittsburgh Pirates young prospects are starting to shine. On Tuesday night, recent call-up Nick Gonzales flashed his potential at the plate. In his fourth career MLB game, the second baseman collected his first big-league hit by crushing a ball that bounced off the Clemente Wall for a triple. Five innings later, Gonzales bested his first knock, smashing a 442-foot home run to deep center field. The 24-year-old’s offense powered the Pirates to a 9-4 victory over the San Diego Padres.
