Donning the "tools of ignorance" for Saturday's contest against the visiting Minnesota Twins, Oakland Athletics catcher Tyler Soderstrom became the second-youngest backup in team history at 21 year old. The team's number one prospect, who grew up less than two hours from the ballpark, also picked up the first two hits of his big-league career.
