San Francisco Giants fans stood and applauded as Marco Luciano sprinted out onto the field in his bright white and orange home uniform on Wednesday evening. The Club’s second-ranked prospect was making his Major League debut at shortstop, five years after signing with the Club as a teenager in the Dominican Republic. Luciano joined teammates Luis Matos as the first pair of under-22 players to play in the same game for the Giants since 1982. “He’s got all the talent in the world, and we’re excited to see what he can do at the Major League level,” said manager Gabe Kapler.
