With a 3-0 count and the bases juiced in the fourth, Dave Roberts gave Betts the green light to swing for the fences, which he did. The 30-year-old swung at a pitch down the middle to pick up his 31st homer of 2023 and his fifth career grand slam. The longball ties the MLB record for most grand slams hit from the leadoff spot since 1900.
