Michael Lorenzen

In his first home game with his new team, the Philadelphia Phillies, Lorenzen pitched the best game of his career, tossing his first no-hitter. He is the fifth pitcher to throw a no-hitter in his first home game with a franchise, joining Don Cardwell, Jay Hughes, Bumpus Jones, and Ed Cushman. Perhaps the strangest stat from the 31-year-old's night dates back to high school days. Four pitchers, including Lorenzen, have attended Fullerton Union High School in California, and all four have thrown no-hitters (Steve Busby, Walter Johnson, Mike Warren).
