Sometimes the best moments of a game happen outside of the box score. That was the case for Detroit Tigers icon Miguel Cabrera and the New York Yankees ahead of their Tuesday night contest. The Yankees showed their appreciation for the 40-year-old in what is thought to be his final season, gifting him an autographed 161 St. Yankee Stadium New York City Subway Station sign, a $10,000 check towards his “Miggy” foundation, and a custom painting of him homering off legendary Yankee closer Mariano Rivera. The legend received a standing ovation ahead of his final series at the venue where he won the 2003 World Series title.
