Having set the single-season home run record for a Seattle Mariners backup in 2022 with 27, the 26-year-old stepped it up a notch this season. Facing Angels pitcher Reid Detmers on the mound Tuesday, the catcher crushed a solo shot to left field to give a Club a 4-0 lead in the opening frame. The longball breaks his own previous record with 28 homers and with plenty of games left in the season to add on some more. Raleigh has quietly hit 17 homers since the MLB All-Star Game.
