Gerrit Cole

Ace pitcher Gerrit Cole has been worth every dime since joining the New York Yankees and now has the 2023 American League Cy Young Award on his shelf to speak for him. It’s the first of his career and he becomes the first Yankees pitcher to win it since Roger Clemens in 2001 (sixth overall). The 33-year-old was money all season, besting opponents with his AL-leading 2.63 ERA and 0.98 WHIP in 222 innings. Cole’s domination was on full display in his final outing of the season, tossing a complete-game, two-hit shutout to finish with a mind-numbing 15-4 record.
