Blake Snell

San Diego Padres pitcher Blake Snell shifted into another gear towards the end of May and never looked back, securing the 2023 National League Cy Young Award at season’s end. It’s the second time the left-hander has won and becomes the seventh pitcher to secure the accolade in both the AL and NL. Snell started off slow in his first nine starts but pitched to a 1.20 ERA with a 16-7 record over his next 23 starts. The 30-year-old led MLB with a 2.25 ERA and stood tall on the mound, holding opponents to the lowest batting average against at .181.
