A new king is wearing the all-time MLB batting crown. Major League Baseball announced Wednesday that they will be integrating stats from the Negro Leagues, which operated from 1920-1948. That change will seat Baseball legend Josh Gibson at the head of the career batting average table. Gibson, who hit for a mind-blowing .372 average over his fourteen year career, surpasses Ty Cobb's record of .367. He will also hold the single-season batting average record as he hit .466 in 1943.
