Jim Leyland was known for wearing his heart on his sleeve. Sunday was no different, as he gave an emotional speech for his Baseball Hall of Fame induction. “My contributions to our beautiful pastime pale in comparison to the joy it has brought to my life,” Leyland said. “From the heart of a little boy to the soul of an old man.” In his 22 years managing the Pirates, Marlins, Rockies, and Tigers, Leyland was a three-time Manager of the Year, three-time pennant winner, and a World Series champion (Marlins, 1997).
