Joe Mauer is synonymous with Minnesota. A St. Paul native, Mauer’s hometown Twins selected him with the No. 1 overall pick in 2001. Fast forward to 2024, and the backstop’s name is now enshrined in Cooperstown. Mauer spent his entire 15-year career in the Twin Cities, amassing three batting titles, five Silver Slugger Awards, six MLB All-Star Game selections, and the 2009 AL MVP Award along the way. He is the only catcher in history with at least 2,000 hits, a .300 batting average, and a .380 OBP.
