Pittsburgh Pirates call-up Billy Cook’s MLB debut had a little bit of everything. The 25-year-old made an immediate impression in the top of the first inning by making an acrobatic catch into the stands on a pop fly. In the bottom of the frame, he notched his first career hit with a two-run ground-rule double. He’d later add another knock as the Pirates downed the Washington Nationals, 7-3. “It meant everything,” Cook said postgame. “You get one debut, that’s what they all say. It was definitely one to remember.”
