Kyle Schwarber etched his name into MLB history on Tuesday night against the Tampa Bay Rays. Hitting in his usual leadoff spot, Schwarber stepped to the plate to open the game. The slugger wasted no time making his mark on the contest, crushing a home run much to the delight of the home crowd at Citizens Bank Park. It was Schwarber’s 14th leadoff homer this season, which is a new MLB record. His early blast would provide a spark for the Phillies who eventually won, 9-4.
