The Seattle Mariners catcher joined rare company on Tuesday night when he blasted his 30th home run of the season, a 395-foot solo shot in the first inning against the San Diego Padres. The dinger made “Big Dumper” the first backstop since Hall-of-Famer Mike Piazza to log that many taters in consecutive seasons, and only the 12th at the position in MLB history with multiple 30-plus seasons. Raleigh is first among all catchers in homers in 2024.
