Bowden Francis' impressive run of dominance continued against the New York Mets on Wednesday. For the second time in his last four starts, the right-hander flirted with a no-hitter. In fact, he carried both gems into the ninth inning before being pulled from the game. Francis is the first pitcher since Nolan Ryan (1989) with two no-hit bids broken up in the ninth inning in the same season. He's also the only pitcher with two no-hit bids of eight or more innings in his first 11 career starts in at least the expansion era (since 1961).
