Returning home from a road trip, the Toronto Blue Jays were in search of an offensive boost. They received one from Ernie Clement, who powered a 12-0 rout of the Athletics. Clement sparked an eight-run outburst in the second inning, driving in five runs with a three-run homer and two-run double. He became the second player in Club history with five RBI in one frame.
