Earning his MLB call-up ahead of the series-opener against Pittsburgh, Payton Tolle made quite the first impression. Boston's top pitching prospect (No. 2 overall) spun five and 1/3 innings, punching out eight Pirates hitters. His showing made him the first Red Sox pitcher to log at least that many strikeouts in his MLB debut since 2007 (Daisuke Matsuzaka).
