Boston Red Sox starting pitcher Payton Tolle turned in the best performance of his young career as the Athletics came into town for a three-game series. The 23-year-old southpaw racked up a career-high 14 strikeouts over six innings of one-hit ball. Tolle's punchout total is the most by a Boston pitcher age-23 or younger since Roger Clemens struck out 20 in 1986.
