The star right-hander fired six scoreless innings with seven strikeouts, trimming his season ERA to 1.97. Skenes is the fourth hurler in MLB history aged 23 or younger, and first Pirates pitcher, with an ERA below 2.00 for a season in the Live Ball Era (1920).
