Sonny Gray was dialed in from the start for the Boston Red Sox, carrying a no-no into the eighth inning of a 5-4 extra-innings victory. The 14-year veteran was five outs away from the Club’s first no-hitter since 2008, but instead settled for his 2,000th career punchout in a dominant performance. Finishing with nine strikeouts, Gray also pitched his 2,000th career inning.
