Minnesota Twins first baseman Joe Mauer joined exclusive company recording his 2,000th career hit with a two-run single in a 4-0 win over the White Sox. Mauer joins Hall of Famers Rod Carew and Kirby Puckett as the only other players to reach 2,000 hits with Minnesota.
