Michael Chavis

Michael Chavis doubled in his first Major League plate appearance to help lead the Red Sox to a 6-5 win over the Rays. Chavis pinch hit for Sandy Leon with the game tied 5-5 in the ninth inning. The double put runners at second and third with one out setting up Andrew Benintendi who hit a sac fly to give Boston a 6-5 lead and eventual victory. The 23-year-old is ranked as one of the top prospects in the Red Sox farm system.
