Michael Chavis

In a thrilling midday contest between the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Chicago Cubs, Pirates first baseman Michael Chavis came up clutch for his Club twice; first, he tied the contest in the eighth inning, and then walked-off to hand his Club an 8-7 win. His home run was a solo shot, struck off Cubs relief hurler David Robertson, blasted over the center-field wall. After the game moved to extra innings, Chavis sealed the deal with a tenth-inning, walk-off single to short left field after connecting with a pitch from Cubs closer Scott Effross.
