OCTOBER 6, 1957 — After the Braves tied the game, 5-5, in the bottom of the 10th inning, Eddie Mathews stepped up to the plate with the winning run on second base. The slugging third baseman launched a walk-off, two-run home run to help the Braves tie the World Series at two games per team.
