Mike Mussina

OCTOBER 5, 1997 — The 1997 ALDS featured two of the best pitchers in the Game, as Mike Mussina and Randy Johnson faced off twice. Though Johnson was known for his devastating fastball and incredible swing-and-miss stuff, it was Mussina who came out on top in both matchups. Mussina's Game 4 victory saw the right-hander outduel Johnson with seven, two-hit innings and seven punchouts. The effort sealed a 3-1 win and sent the Orioles to the ALCS.
