After two seasons of inconsistency, Yu got his game back on track during the 2020 season. The 34-year-old tied Shane Bieber of the Indians with eight wins, most in the Majors and the most for Darvish since 2017. Yu’s 8-3 record was paired with a 2.01 ERA and 93 strikeouts in 76 innings pitched, success that the Cubs had hoped for upon his signing with the Club back in 2018. The game of the year for Yu was his start on August 13 vs. Milwaukee, where he struck out 11 batters while allowing just one hit through seven innings.
