Randy Johnson

Just seven weeks following his 19-strikeout performance against the Oakland Athletics, Randy Johnson would once again fan 19 batters in the early August matchup against the Chicago White Sox. The "Big Unit" would take the mound in front of 42,170 home fans at The Kingdome and fire a complete-game shutout. Johnson scattered just five hits to pair with his astronomical strikeout count and became the first pitcher in MLB history to record 19-plus strikeouts on multiple occasions in a single season.
