Records career knock no 2,000
Andre Dawson - 2021 MLB TOPPS NOW® Turn Back The Clock - Card 140 - PR: 313
Andre Dawson entered the mid-August showdown between the Chicago Cubs and the Houston Astros just one knock shy of the 2,000 career-hits mark. The Miami, Florida, native only needed one at-bat to capture this milestone as he roped a line-drive single off Houston Astros, hurler Jim Clancy. Despite falling to the Astros 6-5, Dawson finished 3-for-4 at the plate with a stolen base and a run scored.
