Javier Báez reminded everyone at PNC Park in Thursday's matchup why he is known across the League as "El Mago." With two outs and a runner on second base in the top of the third inning, Báez hit a sharp ground ball to third for what should have been the final out of the inning. The throw pulled the first baseman Will Craig off of the bag. Craig chased the retreating Báez back toward home plate, meanwhile Willson Contreras rounded third and scored ahead of the tag. Javier easily took first base and ended up on second base after the debacle concluded.
