Jacob deGrom

Jacob deGrom took the bump for the first time in the 2021 season and had one of his typical stellar outings. The two-time NL Cy Young Award winner picked up where he left off in 2020 by going six strong innings, fanning seven batters, and allowing no runs on 3 hits. Jacob also made history at the plate, becoming the first pitcher in New York Mets history to record the team's first hit of the season. He finished the game with a 2-for-3 effort that included an RBI.
