Catfish Hunter

MAY 8, 1968 — Catfish Hunter threw the 10th perfect game in American League history, ending a 46-year, regular-season drought since the last perfect game was thrown by Charlie Robertson of the Chicago White Sox. Catfish became the youngest pitcher in the modern era to toss a perfect game, doing it at 22 years and 30 days old versus the Twins. Hunter retired 27 batters in a row with 11 coming by way of strikeout. Catfish also shined at the plate, going 3-for-4 with a team-high three RBI.
