Gavin Sheets made his MLB debut in the AL Central Division matchup between the Chicago White Sox and the Minnesota Twins. The organization's number nine prospect only needed two pitches to record his first professional hit, as he slashed a single to left field in the bottom of the second inning. The 25-year-old from Lutherville, Maryland, and son of former big-leaguer Larry Sheets, then doubled in the bottom of the fifth inning to drive in the second run of the contest. Sheets would finish the game 2-for-4 with two RBI in the 7-6 victory.
