In Monday night's matchup against the Washington Nationals, Tim Lincecum became the eighth pitcher in MLB history to record 1,000 strikeouts in his first five seasons. Lincecum entered the night with 995 career punchouts before striking out the side in the top of the first inning, and he would later record strikeouts number 999 and 1,000 in the ensuing frame.
